The R&D Center for Reduction of Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases delivers new knowhow by developing optimized solutions for dealing with greenhouse gases based on our advanced infrastructure.

Greenhouses gas is the main causes of climate change.
Since greenhouse gases consist of 66% CO2 and 34% Non-CO2 gases in the world, most efforts in greenhouse gas reduction have been focused on reducing CO2 so far.

However, in order to reduce greenhouse gases, reduction capability (quantity) is a more important matter than emission quantity. This is why Non-CO2 gases (i.e., CH4, N2O, HFCs, PFCs, SF6, and NF3) with global warming potential 21~23,900 times greater than that of CO2 should be the primary targets of reduction.

Because the emission of Non-CO2 greenhouse gases is closely related to Korea’s major industries(semi-conductor, LCD, steel, motor, shipbuilding, chemical, etc.), the development of related technologies will allow the country to gain industrial competitiveness and create a new paradigm for enhanced global presence.

For Korea to effectively respond to climate change, the R&D Center will devote its efforts not only to technology development, but also industrial development and market creation. We look forward to your encouragement and support.
Thank you.
